A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron
I absolutely could not put this book down!! It's the story of four dogs being reborn to discover their purpose. I loved all the dogs: Tody, Bailey, Ellie, and Buddy. After reading it, I went to the website http://www.adogspurpose.com/ and nominated Ruby as Dog of the Week. Please vote for her everyday by clicking on five stars. I also submitted her Splish Splash video which they accepted and uploaded on their website. This is footage of Ruby in her new swimming pool.

Summer Reading
Dear Students,
Remember that week in early July where it rained every single day?! Ruby and I were stuck inside so I decided to challenge myself with reading a children's book each day. What a fun challenge it was. There is nothing better to me than snuggling up on the couch with Ruby and a book during a thunderstorm!! Some of my favorites this summer were Kate DiCamillo's The Magician's Elephant. I LOVE her style of writing. Her books always have an underlining message and this one was HOPE. Remind me to tell you story of trying to get this book out from under the couch!!
Another new favorite author of mine is Eric Berlin. I had purchased his book, The Potato Chip Puzzle during the school year but never had time to read it. What fun it was to read!! That's the book where I pulled the puzzle from the card I sent you!! I think Winston Breen is a neat kid! I love to read and try to solve puzzles...how about you?
Well....Ruby is looking at me with those puppy dog eyes saying that she wants to go out and play. I think I'll fill up her swimming pool for her this afternoon.
Hope all is well and that you are enjoying your summer!!
Happy Reading,
Ms Broughton
